Do we collect personal information?

When creating or voting on a poll, we store the user’s IP address to allow the creator or voter to modify their poll or vote without creating an account. This is the minimum amount of information we can use to safely identify a user and prevent vote manipulation. PollarBear will never ask for personally identifiable information such as name, email address, or credit card info.

Do we use cookies?

We do not use cookies for tracking purposes. When a user creates or votes on a poll, metadata around that action in stored in the browser local storage. This data is accessible only from the user’s browser and is not sent to external servers like a standard web cookie. This data can be permanently deleted by clearing your browser history.

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site. Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our users based on previous visits to our site and other sites on the Internet. Users may opt-out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google Ad and Content Network privacy policy.
